As unsettling as this may be, the voice you hear on your answering machine is the truth - what you hear in your head is a lie. Most of us don't recognize that sound, don't like that sound, are embarrassed by that sound, and then forget that sound...
Not very promising? How's this? When you meet someone 55% of the image you project is visual, 8% is your content, 37% is the sound of your speaking voice...the one you hear on your answering machine!

As much as I may wish I could still look 20, I certainly don't want to sound that age (or younger)! If you are a senior citizen, you don't have to sound like one. Yes, when I'm 80 I may look it, but I will never sound like an old woman because my chest powers my voice, not my throat or vocal folds, thus reducing the 'wear and tear' on those delicate organs. Isn't it time to take the age out of your voice? |
