Voice Dynamic Newsletter A Story of Hope If You Experience Vocal Abuse |
Greetings! I would like to take this special time of year to thank all of my readers for the wonderful emails you send me throughout the year and to also share with you Don's story. Last month I worked privately with Don, a former Radio Sales Manager who left his job to pursue storytelling at day care centers and elementary schools. Don has a wonderful new business not only reading to the children but writing the stories as well. He came to me because after two or three 1-hour readings in a day, he was experiencing sore throats and hoarseness. Thankfully, he came to me before any serious damage was done. So I taught him to breathe, I showed him his optimum pitch, and he took it from there. Last Friday night, Don phoned me to announce that he had had 19 readings that week and his voice was strong -- no hoarseness -- no sore throats. What a wonderful gift this man has. He reads with color, with animation, with emotion and his stories are extraordinary. The teachers love him as well as the children. And so they should. Don's New Year will definitely be healthier and happier with the new direction in his life ... I wish all of you, my readers and my clients, only the best in 2008! |
