Breathlessness

In normal conversation, do you ever wonder when to breathe?  For most people, the answer is no; however, on the podium, at the lectern, or even in a telephone sales conference, many people find that they run out of air before finishing the sentence and then gasp for air which increases their tension.  Anxiety in public speaking or even in a sales presentation often presents itself in tightening of the neck, shoulders, and/or jaw which only adds to the discomfort.

We were taught in elementary school to wait until we came to the end of the sentence before taking a breath in order to read out loud effectively.   Not a problem with only 6 or 7 words in the sentence!  When we finally got to high school, our sentences were often 3 lines long with little or not punctuation and we were under the mistaken belief that we weren't allowed to breathe until.....  Absolutely not.  If we interrupt out sentences in normal conversation to breathe (without giving it a second thought), then why not do the same in the presentation or sales conference?  It's called natural; it's called normal; it's called take a breath before you run out of air, not after!

In Voicing It!, I teach you proven techniques that I have used for more than 20 years   You will feel and sound more relaxed:

1.  the quiver or shaking voice will be gone;

2.  breathlessness will be eliminated;

3.  you will be able to control your speed;

4.  your pitch will not go up; and,

5.  you will be able to concentrate on what you are saying and not your anxiety!
