The Glenn Beck Show

Last month I wrote a newsletter discussing Hillary Clinton's inability to increase her volume without shouting.

Interestingly enough, conservative radio talk show host Glenn Beck has been discussing Ms. Clinton's voice for the last couple of weeks on his morning radio program, likening it to that of a nagging wife.

So, when CNN Headline News phoned me last Thursday to join Glenn on his evening broadcast for the purpose of discussing Hillary's voice, I was more than interested.

What I don't understand is why someone within her staff has not insisted that she get some training. Obviously she has people telling her how to dress and what to do with her hair and makeup.

Ranting and raving is not an image that sits well with my ear!

Imagine returning back to your office after a morning meeting and upon sitting down at your desk, the phone rings and the voice on the other end of the line says, "This is The Glenn Beck Show in New York. Could you be on his program tonight on CNN's Headline News?"

Woman Finds Breathing a Godsend during Pregnancy

I worked with a pregnant customer service rep in the fall of 2006 on voice improvement and telephone techniques.

Due in December, she was having difficulty breathing because of her asthma and she exhibited a lot of wheezing in taking a breath. I saw her this past week, the proud mother of a 3-month baby girl, and she told me that the breathing was a Godsend. Breathing with the support of her diaphragm made those last 3 months of her pregnancy bearable and it eliminated the wheezing!

It constantly amazes me how many people really don't understand what this breathing can mean, not only for the voice, but for so many other aspects of one's life...

Why not learn to breathe today!
